April 5—6 Foggy Ridge Cider Spring Opening
Welcome the season with a stroll through early spring hierloom apple orchards and find out what's new in 2014. Discounts offered for bottle and case purchases on this opening weekend. $5 tasting fee. Saturday 11-5, Sunday 12-5

April 12 —Top Grafting Workshop
9 to 12

Did you know that a single apple tree can grow more than 80 varieties? The secret is top grafting and you can learn how in this in depth workshop with master pruner and nursery owner, Eliza Greenman. See details and sign up on our on line store. You'll take home a grafting knife, tape and scion wood from the Foggy RIdge orchard to top graft onto your own trees.

Our good buddies from the Carroll County Master Gardener's Association asked us to list their grafting workshops. Here's another chance to learn to make your very own apple trees. Sign up by calling the Extension Office, 276 728-3110. $15 in advance please.

April 17 —Cider Dinner at Herons Restaurant
The Umstead Hotel & Spa
Chef Scott Crawford, a James Beard "Best Chef: Southeast" semifinalist and fantastic all round chef, hosts Foggy Ridge for an elegant and inventive cider dinner at Heron's in the beautiful Umstead Hotel & Spa. Expect Border Springs Farm lamb carpaccio, Rappahannock River oysters, Carolina Mountain Trout, Smoked Veal Sweetbreads and Heritage Farms Pork. And those are just the proteins. $85 plus tax & tip covers four over the top courses plus cider pairings. 6:30 Reception 7:00 Dinner. Sign up or call 919 447-4000.

April 26—Bloom Fest at Foggy Ridge
There's nothing more beautiful than a mountain orchard in bloom. Visit Foggy Ridge's spring orchards and enjoy a Special Tasting of our 2012 and 2013 ciders. Taste the difference a season makes! $8 Special Tasting fee. Saturday 11-5

May 10— Second Saturday Music Series
The Comptons, a Floyd county favorite, visit the Foggy Ridge crush pad for this first in our Second Saturday Music Series. This energetic group mixes new and traditional bluegrass tunes, an ideal accompanyment to cider. Food truck on hand to handle the snacks. $10 covers music and tasting. Saturday 11-5

May 24 —Where the Buffalo Roam
Foggy Ridge Cider & Nearby Buffalo Mountain
Come roam the Buffalo....Buffalo Mountain that is. Take a shuttle from Foggy Ridge to nearby Buffalo Mountain for a short hike that rewards with 360 degree views. You can even see the Foggy Ridge orchards! Return for local buffalo burgers, chili and cider tasting. $10 covers tasting and shuttle ride to and from Buffalo Mountain. Bison burgers and sides on sale at Foggy Ridge. Regular tasting $5. Saturday 11 to 5

June 14 —Second Saturday Music Series
Les Moore and his trio bring jazz and blues to Foggy Ridge. Listen to the smooth stylings of this talented group, bring a picnic and enjoy a bottle of cider at this laid back event on the Foggy Ridge crush pad. $10 covers music and tasting. Saturday 11 to 5

June 7—Foggy Ridge Cider Chef Series
Local Roots, Roanoke's top spot for locavore dining, brings their focus on flavor and local ingredients to Foggy Ridge in this first Chef Series. Chef Jeff creates three pairings to sample with three ciders. Stop by and celebrate "local" on the plate and in the glass. $10 covers cider & pairings. Saturday 11 to 5

July 5 —1st Annual Cornhole Tournament
Ever play the popular game, Cornhole, against a backdrop of heirloom apple orchards? Join us for the 1st Annual Cornhole Tournament on the grounds of Foggy Ridge Cider. Sign up to play, or just join the fun. Expect Food Truck snacks and cider all day, with prizes for the top two teams. $10 team entry fee and tasting. $5 for cider tasting. Saturday 11 to 5

October 4 —Apple Harvest Celebration at Foggy Ridge
Taste the fruits, and the beverage, of the season as Foggy Ridge celebrates The Apple. Sample heirlooms like Cox's Orange Pippin, Ashmead's Kernel and Roxbury Russett along with award winning cider. Bring your own "mystery apples" for expert identification by Legacy Fruit Tree nursery owner (and Foggy Ridge Orchard Manager) Eliza Greenman. $10 covers cider & apple tasting. Saturday 11 to 5

October 25 —Foggy Ridge Cider Chef Series
Chef Aaron Deal dishes up deliciousness at Roanoke's River & Rail restaurant. But today he's sending treats to Foggy Ridge, designed to compliment our cider. Stop by for cider and food pairings, designed to please. $10 covers cider & pairings. Saturday 11 to 5

November 28—29 Thanksgiving Open House
Prolong your holiday indulgences with a drive to Foggy Ridge Cider's late fall orchards. Enjoy seasonal homemade soup, paired with the beverage of the season.
